The Motor Fuels Tax Consultant (“Consultant”) works with a team to identify tax savings for clients and to gain an understanding of the client’s methodology for computing each component of fuels/excise tax. This includes researching and analyzing federal, multi-state and local fuels tax issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Researches and analyzes federal, multi-state and local fuels tax issues and communicates the analysis results to management.
• Gathers data, enters data, and prepares fuels tax refund claims.
• Works with data received in SQL, Microsoft® Access and Excel formats to prepare refund claims.
• Pulls and copies invoice to support refund claims.
• Conducts written and verbal communication with clients and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, or one to three years related accounting and auditing experience required.
Computer Skills:
In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
