Job Description
Responsible for the efficient operations of two or more teams in one of several functions within Discover Home Equity, or oversees a staff in a complex or specialized area.

Basic Function:
Responsible for the efficient operations of two or more teams in one of several functions within Discover Home Equity, or oversees a staff in a complex or specialized area.
Responsibilities include supervisory and leadership development of staff, staffing, scheduling and employee evaluations. Assists the department management in managing client requests; planning, budgeting and expense control. Provides technical expertise to the staff and resolves complex customer inquiries.

Expertise: Leadership experience in DHE, mortgage banking, home equity lending. Development of Team Leader/Supervisory/Representative staff:
Handling of employee related issues. To include such activities as compliance with corporate and local personnel policies, recommending salary adjustments.
Recommending actions regarding transfers, promotions, performance reviews and terminations where appropriate.
Provides expertise to solve complex client issues such as complaints, special projects, requests for information, and special reporting.
Ensures that employees are trained and kept abreast of new techniques and procedures etc. that allow for better performance.
Analyzes workflow and processes within the department.
Develops and implements new or revised methods based on finding. Working and maintaining special project handling from headquarters liaison.
Ensure proper staffing in order to meet work requirements, develop and implement strategies for reducing turnover and assuring compliance with Company’s Affirmative Action Plan. Relationships: Reports to the Department Manager.
Maintain positive relationships with Department Managers. Communicate with support departments including Administration, Human Resources, Information Services, and the Training Departments.
Work closely with Team Leaders, Team Coaches to create a working environment that encourages successful completion of tasks.
Other Requirements:
Available to work varying shifts to support DHE hour of operation M-F 5a-10p & Rotational Weekends.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience, may direct the work of other staff members.
Lean, Six Sigma and/or demonstrated process improvement expertise a plus.
Amount of Supervision:
Works under limited supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall timeliness and accuracy.
Task Complexity:
Works on critical issues and the most complex projects. Expert knowledge of the field. Assignments are quite varied and complex with few standard procedures.

Eligibility Requirements:
-Leadership experience in DHE, mortgage banking, home equity lending is highly preferred
-Bachelor's degree preferred
-Discover Employees: Must be in current position for 12 months or longer, must have a current meets review or higher on file to post and must not be on any active disciplinary action.
