Jackson National Life Distributors LLC (JNLD) has an opening for an Vice President, Investment Management
Job Purpose
The Vice President, Investment Management will manage sales and distribution relationships with asset managers, internal departments, and various vendors as well as providing guidance and feedback on investment related marketing material. Contribute to Jackson’s investment related content including marketing, web, and the portfolio construction tool as well as any new investment focused mediums. Additionally, the VP, Investment Management will provide mentoring to the Investment Management Analysts and Strategists.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage sales and distribution relationships with existing asset managers, vendors, JNAM, Sales force, multiple internal departments, and Executives.
• Participate in new fund and investment manager selection process from a distribution perspective.
• Partner with Marketing to create investment related marketing materials.
• Manage and direct investment related web content (performance, etc.) across the company.
• Cultivate asset manager relationships to support Jackson’s strategic sales initiatives including attending and/or hosting due diligence events, soliciting meeting sponsorships, influencing marketing messaging, and creating/identifying mutually-beneficial opportunities for new initiatives, variable products, and sales channels.
• Support product and investment onboarding with third-party sales partners via national accounts personnel by completing due diligence questionnaires and providing support at launch and throughout the life of a selling agreement.
• Plan and conduct investment and economic training with internal wholesalers, external wholesalers, asset managers, back offices, and advisors via due diligence meetings, calls and other investment symposiums.
• Innovate, review, and constantly refine new and existing processes, procedures, technology, and investment ideas for efficiencies and competitive advantages.
• Oversees performance calculation and display processes for all distribution-related platforms.
• Responsible for planning, monitoring, and achieving business goals.
• Direct external asset managers’ activities around sales and marketing efforts.
• Researches new fund ideas and makes recommendations for sub-account changes or additions.
• Has a good working knowledge of the asset management and operations aspects of Jackson and works closely with the entities to establish effective policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with eCommerce, Compliance, Illustrations, Marketing and Technology Management to create and manage sub-account related sales tools, marketing materials, web content and JACKSON illustration software.
• Leads and mentor’s members of JNLD’s Investment Management/Portfolio Strategy team and analysts.
• Employs delegation skills to ensure all staff members are making meaningful contributions and advancing their careers.
• Provides relevant and timely feedback on performance.
• Attends asset manager and industry conferences.
• Other projects as assigned by management.
• Moderate travel is required.

• Must understand and be able to manage divergent perspectives and interests related to business issues.
• Highly proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Proficient in Morningstar Direct.
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with investment related background in a combination of research, sales, marketing and relationship management.
• FINRA Series 7 and 24 required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• FINRA Series 63, Variable Life License preferred.
• Investment related training/certification: ChFC, CIMA, CFP, CFA desired
