Business Overview:
The Intermediate Holding Company (“IHC”) program structured at the U.S. level across poles of activities of BNP Paribas provides guidance, supports the analysis, impact assessment and drives adjustments of the U.S. platform’s operating model due to the drastic changes introduced by the Enhanced Prudential Standards (“EPS”) for Foreign Banking Organizations (“FBOs”) finalized by the Federal Reserve in February 2014, implementing Section 165 of U.S. Dodd-Frank Act.
The team provides a pool of project managers and business analysts to drive change throughout the organization and across locations of BNP Paribas in the U.S. in coordination with the Group and head offices of the 3 poles (CIB, IS and retail banking).
The IHC IT Risk work stream is responsible for providing the bank with risk indicators, Risk Weighted Assets as well as limit and Exposure reports. The team is focused on Credit, Counterparty and Market risk therefore covering both Financing Métier’s and Capital Market areas.
Responsibilities:
• Pro-actively communicate and collaborate with business clients to analyze Business Requirements, write Functional Requirements as well as associated artefacts.
• Work with development teams throughout system implementation and delivery.
• Act as the first line of contact to interface with RISK Reporting and Finance business users
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to create a clear understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Conduct data analysis in support of applications and projects, including identifying and documenting business rules, data needs and data specifications.
• Collaborate across application development and technology teams within IT to ensure that business requirements are fully understood.
• Participate in design, development, testing and implementation of solutions.
• A key member of the project team, the BA works with the project manager, development manager, developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
• Support, maintain and debug existing applications and systems and identify ways to leverage the usage of the platform
• Participate and assist with testing, configuration/release management, and deployment.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and/or Computer Science
• 5 – 7 years of industry experience
◦ At least 2 years’ experience working with Moody’s Risk Authority tool in a similar capacity.
• Strong understanding of:
◦ Banking products including derivatives and securitization.
◦ RWA computation within standardized approach (credit, counterparty and market risks) and Basel III Capital Requirements.
◦ Software design principles and development best practices within the software development life cycle.
• Recognized as a strong team player
• Experience using business analysis and requirements modeling tools, such as: data flow diagrams, relationship data models, XML modeling, business process modelling.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing and test case design.
• Ability to:
◦ Analyze data sets and perform consistency and quality controls.
◦ Work in team as well as in autonomy.
◦ Communicate clearly and concisely to sort out issue under time constraint using English.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of French is a plus.
• Basic SQL knowledge is a plus.
