Overview
Appraisal Specialist II performs a variety of responsibilities to support the valuation of consumer and commercial real estate related to lending and asset monitoring. The individual must ensure the appropriate valuation for the collateral and loan type are ordered, received and reviewed to meet required federal regulations related to Interagency Guidelines, USPAP, FIRREA and current Credit Policy. Perform compliance review on all consumer real estate appraisal reports. Complete evaluation reports to assist in the extension of consumer real estate credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Regulatory knowledge – must be able to understand, interpret and apply federal regulations and internal policies related to the valuation of real estate.
• Ability to analyze commercial valuation request and order appropriate valuation for the collateral and loan type to meet required regulatory guidelines
• Reviews consumer real estate appraisal report for completeness, accuracy, adequacy, relevance and reasonableness and compliance with USPAP and FIRREA.
• Looks for inconsistencies and error throughout the report. Communicate any noted errors and inconsistencies to the appraiser so they may be discussed and resolved in a revised report.
• Develops Real Estate Evaluation Reports which will be used for the extension of consumer real estate credit.
• Possesses necessary skills to effectively communicate with appraisers and various areas of the bank.
• Generates reports using appraisal software and prepare monthly production reports.
• Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees in the organization
• 2-4 years’ experience in consumer real estate related position or a registered real estate appraiser.
Education and Experience
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years’ applicable experience
• MS Office programs
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Completion of USPAP, Appraisal Principals and Appraisal Procedures required
*This position can be based out of any Simmons location where space is availble in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, or Oklahoma.
