Job Description
The Capital Management Program/ Resolution Planning team is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Consultant to handle challenging tasks that will drive submission of both the Capital and Resolution Plans. This highly visible role within Corporate Finance will allow the right candidate to showcase and leverage his/her experience to comply with key Company regulatory objectives.
This role will be responsible for the following activities:
• Support the coordination of the effective challenge process for the Board of Directors, Board of Directors subcommittee, Capital Planning Committee, and the Working Groups for the various scenarios and gateway check points as a part of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) process. The effective challenge process ensures that management understands and agrees with key assumptions and decisions that impact the capital planning submission from economic scenario development, to key assumptions and modeling impacts, to capital payout decisions.
• As a part of the governance process, aggregate data across the business and package the information into clear, concise and easy-to-understand presentations to help senior management and the Board stay informed and approve key decisions.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and routine review of CCAR forecast results, including validation of submission data.
• Oversee certain aspects for production of the Capital Plan including content updates and review.
• Support the process for providing materials for Regulatory exams, Board, and other Committee meetings.
• Develop a deep understanding of the Resolution Plan (RP) objectives and strategies so as to guide other parts of the organization.
• Liaison with other departments including Legal, Accounting, Corporate Risk Management, Treasury, and other business areas, to help drive the timely submission of the Resolution Plan.
• Support driving the annual roadmap of activities both for production of RP materials and initiatives which enhance resolvability.
• Support development of financial assumptions, including validation of pro-forma results in order to facilitate accurate and timely forecasted financials for the RP.
• Oversee certain aspects for production of RP including content updates and review.
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Skills
Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in the financial services industry; prior experience in Treasury, Finance, or Risk Management is desired, particularly in the areas of accounting, capital planning, regulatory reporting, or financial planning and budgeting or equivalent experience
• Ability to independently manage a process that has tight turnarounds, requires attention to detail and strong written communication skills
• Established ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with various levels of management, and regulators
• Strong understanding of financial statements
• Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to influence others without having direct accountability for them
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong analysis, decision-making and logic skills
• Self-motivated, displays a high level of initiative
• High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
Skills Desired
• MBA degree, CPA, or CFA designation
• Excellent writing skills
• Lean, Six Sigma and/or demonstrated process improvement expertise
• Experience at Big 4 or similar consulting firms in Capital Planning/Resolution Planning
• Proficiency with Hyperion Essbase and Wdesk/ Workiva
