Director, Mastercard Send Compliance Lead
Overview
At Mastercard, we are committed to protecting our network from being used to facilitate money laundering or terrorist financing. The AML Compliance team actively participates in the development and implementation of a robust compliance program that is designed to meet our regulatory obligations and ensure that internal and external constituents understand and respect the importance of their responsibilities with regard to this function.
The goal of the New Payments Platform team is to create, build and deploy emerging payment products and services across multiple channels around the world. Mastercard Send is a highly visible team focused on payments to consumers, including domestic and cross-border P2P and business/government disbursements (cross-border P2P are also known as remittances).
The role of the AML Compliance lead would be to operationalize the day-to-day Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions requirements for Mastercard Send and its affiliated business units.
Role
• Develop relationships and work cross functionally to identify, assess and mitigate potential AML and Sanctions risks
• Perform customer identification, verification and monitoring procedures on new and existing customers to ensure adherence to Mastercard AML and Sanctions requirements
• Provide support during the customer and/or product lifecycle to evaluate potential AML risk associated with new or enhanced product offerings. Work with key business teams to develop solutions for meeting customer business needs and advancing Mastercard strategic initiatives while minimizing potential money laundering risk to MasterCard and other network participants
• Manage AML and compliance features of the Push Payments product suite. Work with regional and global product teams to identify short term enhancements and define the long term strategy for AML/compliance capabilities in the platform.
• Create and deliver engaging educational sessions designed to reinforce Mastercard’s AML and Sanctions Compliance principles throughout the evolution of the business
• Provide input to AML and Sanctions Program Risk Assessments in order to account for activity within Mastercard Send and affiliated majority owned joint ventures
• Establish and maintain AML Compliance Program tracking and metrics to identify trends and establish action items for program preservation and enhancements; provide regular reporting to Global Mastercard AML Officer
• Direct and oversee daily monitoring of reporting of account transaction activity to identify suspicious and illegal activities
All About You
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Must have experience managing a regulatory compliance program
• Intermediate skills with BSA/AML compliance program requirements
• Knowledge of banking/financial operations, transaction processing and/or payments-related industry experience is preferred
• Sound judgment with ability to build rapport at all levels, and in all business units; proven ability to persuade and drive results
• Proven ability to work independently or as a team player and function effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment while handling multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines
• Superior attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills
• ACAMS Certification preferred
