Job Description
SNI Financial is currently hiring a Billing Coordinator for a premier international law firm located in downtown Chicago. The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for the completion of all facets of billing and collection functions, work directly with partners, prepare invoices, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Billing Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Perform client billing and collection activities for assigned clients
• Monitor and manage outstanding accounts receivables, unapplied funds and collection efforts
• Monitor aging of unbilled fees for assigned partners and clients
• Meet with Senior Billing Coordinators and/or partners to discuss monthly billing, outstanding invoices, and strategy for collections
• Remain current on all billing-related responsibilities
• Generate Billing Information Memos for each assigned partner at the beginning of each month, after the time entry deadline
• Prepare billing packages for each assigned partner (invoices, draft cover letters).
• Communicate new/changes in client policies to timekeepers
• Handle time/cost transfers; investigate appropriateness of where entries should be billed
• Verify client specific rate accommodations and apply approved discounts to the face of the invoices when necessary.
• Generate billing variance reports and write-off reports
• Acquire write-off approvals based on write-off amount thresholds
• Investigate appropriateness of where entries should be billed; time/cost transfers
• Pull back-up of costs to include with final invoices based on client's billing requirements
• Track status of bills submitted, identify issues, and work to address rejections and reductions as they arise
• Monitor payment of assigned clients' accounts receivables and coordinate collection efforts
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business or Finance strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of previous billing experience within a Law Firm or Professional Services organization
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments
• First-rate customer service skills
• Flexibility for possible overtime hours
• Experience with Rippe & Kingston or Elite is a plus
• Attention to detail and ability to work well independently and on a team
