The primary duties of the Travel Accounting Manager are:
• Direct the departmental objectives and strategy to align department efforts with Business Line and Club goals. Responsible for Travel Accounting activities while ensuring that all policies and procedures adhere to governing agency policies and GAAP.
• Design, develop and implement controls within the department to ensure agent-driven invoicing translates directly to the General ledger on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
• Direct Group Closure. Delivers Financial Statements, P&L, Balance Sheet ensuring application of sound corporate accounting practices, controls and procedures in collection and reporting of data, statements and analysis
• Interpret and evaluate financial statements, providing direction to the Travel Accounting team’s reconciliation and reporting personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 7 years of experience with significant knowledge of travel industry regulations (ARC, IATAN and regulatory requirements).
• Five years of experience at a management level with demonstrated leadership capabilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Travel Agency back-office systems is preferable.
• Demonstrated financial background for understanding financial reporting and analysis needs for internal
and external customers as well as experience with database management.
