Job Description
Job Summary
The Resource Team Leader provides top-level support to the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) and leaders of Allstate IA by developing, implementing, driving and improving critical business processes related to key internal audit functions, including audit plan development, audit project execution, quality assurance, growth and development initiatives. Typical you are in the role for one to two years as they develop their leadership skills and learn the audit process. This role has the responsibility of leading and developing a team of auditors, building decks and messages for senior leaders of Allstate, including the Audit Committee and the Internal Controls Committee (ICC), while also learning the process and supporting audit operations. The Resource Team Leader supports audit delivery by working as the manager of an individual audit, which requires providing the appropriate level of project planning, delegation of work, supervision and review of staff to meet the audit landmarks while delivering high quality results, consistent with the audit procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
• Work closely with CAE, IA Leaders, Business and Segment leaders to bring a rigorous, fact-based approach to issues and opportunities.
• Develop reporting and storylines for communications with the CAE, Audit Committee, the ICC and other leaders.
• Actively engage clients and effectively communicate the context and need for a strong and cost-effective internal control environment and risk management practices.
• Collaborate with key partners to provide real-time feedback on performance to direct reports.
• Effectively develop and mentor team to build broad and deep bench strength in the skills needed to meet succession needs and eliminate key man risks.
• Ensure that internal audit resources are appropriate, sufficient, and effectively deployed to achieve the approved plan.
• Build capabilities and understanding of our audit process, foundational audit skills, and effective soft skills.
• Provide supervision to ensure engagement objectives are achieved, quality is assured, and staff is developed.
• Ensure audit process, results and issues are clearly understood by the audit client.
• Contribute to Allstate Internal Audit Strategic Initiatives, and participates as an engaged member of the Internal Audit leadership team.
• Craft a comprehensive project plan, assemble and own the applicable team through successful implementation of assigned initiatives.
Audit Operations and Delivery:
• Prepare management reports and presentations for internal management discussion and Audit Committee reporting.
• Lead the organization and execution of audit staff recruiting efforts, scheduling and participation in candidate discussions and interviews.
• Collaborate with Allstate leaders and Operations resources to improve metric and reporting capabilities, expand automation and support department branding efforts.
• Identify and lead projects to implement process improvement and efficiency opportunities to further integrate audit processes within the audit tool.
• Support audit software changes and workflow improvements, assisting with solution development, testing and department communications.
• Collaborate with leaders on scheduling resources to promote career development, meet utilization goals, fill resourcing needs and ensure balance of assignments across teams.

Experience/Education:
• A minimum of 7 years of in audit/business experience (a blend of internal/external experience acceptable)
• College degree required - major preference of Accounting / Finance / Information Technology
• TeamMate and/or Tableau experience a plus
• CPA, CIA or CISA must be acquired within 24 months of joining Internal Audit
