The Director, Workers’ Compensation Claims is responsible for managing the performance and production of a workers’ compensation group, to ensure that the goals and standards, as developed by York Risk Management Services, are met, and to establish and foster relationships with internal and external customers.
• Customer Service: Accountable to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service to our clients in partnership with our Client Services team. The director is expected to understand the expectations of customers in their region, ensure that Account Level Instructions point the staff toward successful activities and standards. The director will need to analyze data and ensure that we make changes where indicated and provide a clear picture of the service levels and outcomes attained on behalf of each customer.
• Best Practices: will be responsible for ensuring that we adhere to our Best Practices and that we consistently achieve superior results.
• Statutory Requirements: responsible for ensuring that we are complying with all rules and regulations outlined for us in the specific jurisdictions we are administering workers’ compensation claim benefits.
• Recruiting: Active recruiting efforts must be maintained to ensure a pipeline of experienced staff is available when an opportunity arises. This includes but is not limited to maintaining a network within the industry, representing York at workers’ compensation claim functions, and working closely with HR.
• New Hire Requisitions: Submit the appropriate forms to HR/OpenHire to properly seek approval of additions or replacements to staff. The Director must be prepared to answer questions surrounding the staffing need.
• Management Operating System: In coordination with the Unit Managers , the Director is ultimately responsible for properly staffing each client to ensure that the results coincide with our Best Practices.
• Sales: The Director will work with our sales team to provide the best proposal responses for prospective clients and ensure that York wins the account. The Director will work within the professional community to further York’s reputation and develop relationships with new prospects and prospective clients
• Continuous Improvement: The Director is charged with ensuring that we review our processes with regularity in order to improve products, services and processes
• Some travel is required
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
• BS / BA or 8 years Equivalent Work Experience
EXPERIENCE:
• Required five (5) years of workers’ compensation supervisory responsibilities
• Must meet all local regulatory licensing requirements
