Description
The ESS PMO is tasked with leading all program and project management aspects of critical initiatives across Prudential’s Finance and Actuarial organizations, as well as certain enterprise-wide initiatives. The Project Management Specialist to support all aspects of project management including, but not limited to, the identification of the initial business case and scope, development and maintenance of project tools (e.g., project plans), tracking of issues through resolution and development of all project communications, and providing consultative services to client organizations.
Key responsibilities:
You will manage small- to medium-scale technology and non-technology projects, specifically:
• Assist with the drafting of (and maintaining all) project documentation including, but not limited to, project plans, issues lists, risk registers, communication plans, meeting documentation and status reports.
• Assist with the drafting of other project-related documents, as needed (e.g., business requirements, test scripts, business cases, process flows, standard operating procedures, etc.).
• Identify, communicate and escalate project issues and risks and proactively manage the change management process.
• Communicate clearly (written and verbal) with the project team and senior management; assist with the development of effective presentations and updates for management.
• Customize project management approach to meet the unique needs and requirements of customer organizations.
• Provide project team and senior leadership with unbiased, out-of-the-box thinking and creative solutioning to solve unique business problems and gain efficiencies for the organization and enterprise; facilitate the implementation of approved solutions.
• Facilitate project meetings, including agenda creation, logistics, meeting management and meeting documentation.
Qualifications
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communications skills; this includes: demonstrated diplomatic and collaborative capabilities; creative solutioning skills that are mindful of strategic and tactical considerations; and excellent written and verbal communications, appropriately tailored to the audience.
• Capable of thoroughly understanding, taking ownership of, and driving a project’s end goal and helping lead the project to success, while adapting and managing to ambiguity and change; ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables within defined timelines and under limited oversight.
• Aptitude for learning in a fast-paced environment including understanding the holistic and tactical details of the project, as well as the supporting business processes; demonstrate the acumen to be a subject matter expert, where needed.
• Experience with financial systems (i.e., Oracle eBusiness Suite, Obero, IBM TRIRIGA), project management tools (i.e., SharePoint and Project Online) and project management methodologies (i.e., SDLC, Agile) a plus.
• Four-year degree or equivalent experience required.

• Overtime required, as needed.
• While this position is based in Newark, some travel may be required at times.
