We are currently looking for a Portfolio Analyst II to join the CMBS (Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities) Investment team. Within the CMBS investment team, you will independently conduct loan level research and model loan specific risk for assigned deals, monitor and research economic and industry trends that may impact overall loan performance in specific markets and the U.S. as a whole and effectively communicate superior buy, sell and hold recommendations to portfolio management team.
Accountabilities:
• Requires critical attention to detail
• Strong quantitative financial background
• Working knowledge of computer modeling techniques and the ability to make effective decisions
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment while managing multiple priorities is essential
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required with emphasis in finance, economics or accounting.
• CFA designation and/or MBA preferred.
• Six or more years of relevant experience in analysis and/or a related industry required.
• Excellent computer modeling techniques required.
• Must be a self- starter and demonstrate a strong understanding of economics, investment theories and investment vehicles.
• Proven abilities in the areas of analysis, security selection/ recommendation, written and verbal communication, decision making, persuasion and time management required.
• Ability to operate effectively with a very high level of autonomy and self-direction is essential.
• Some overnight travel required.
