Job Description
Position Description
The role on the Financial Planning and Analysis team is responsible for expense analysis, forecasting, and reporting at Ally Insurance. This position will provide support for the annual business plan process. The candidate will work closely with the business to understand monthly expense trends/results. This role is instrumental in recurring management reporting processes. The candidate will be responsible for payment calculations, analysis, and reporting related to the Ally Insurance sales incentive compensation plan. Additionally, this position will participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis that support business initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
• Maintain and improve forecast tools/processes for expenses
• Utilize key financial software applications including SAP, Ariba and Hyperion
• Coordinate with business partners on key forecast and business plan assumptions and performance metrics
• Prepare periodic forecast and annual business plan expense projections and documentation with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency with management's expectations
• Analyze, interpret, and identify trends in financial and operational results and investigate variances to forecast/business plan
• Maintain and improve incentive compensation tools/processes
• Work with business partners to analyze and implement changes to the sales incentive compensation plan
• Create, maintain and publish management review presentation materials with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency with management's expectations
• Perform ad hoc analytical projects as necessary both within and beyond your primary area of focus
Qualifications
• BS/BBA degree in Finance/Accounting or related field required
• Minimum 2 years previous work experience in Finance, Accounting or related field required
• Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis and provide explanations to management
• Proven analytical skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Proven track record of driving accurate and timely results with moderate ongoing direction
• Strong customer service orientation
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
• Motivated/self-starter looking to make a difference
• Ability to drive change and initiate/execute process improvements
• Exhibits analytical curiosity
• Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative
