Cash Accountant

The Cash Accountant will perform daily cash bank file uploads into Peoplesoft, daily balance reporting, prepare cash transaction journal entries, research discrepancies between bank and POS system, initiate wire/ACH transactions in banking software, update Peoplesoft for appropriate mapping requirements, prepare monthly bank reconciliations using Blackline, prepare month end journal entries and assist with month end close process, provide customer service to retail locations for relevant inquires, assist with process improvements and implementing change. Other duties as needed for transactional requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Daily transactional banking and reporting
• Month end close process including journal preparation, bank reconciliations, and reporting
• Resolution of discrepancies in deposits, journals, wire transfers and bank account documentation
Critical and Essential Tasks
• Manages daily cash transactions
• Prepares month end journals
• Prepares bank reconciliations in a timely manner
• Initiate banking transactions as needed
• Reporting as required
• Completes other duties as assigned by the Cash Manager
Requirements
Experience
Two years of relative Cash accounting and general accounting experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from a four year college or university

§ Experience with Peoplesoft 9.2.
§ Demonstrated knowledge and experience in month end close and of the cash flow cycle of a company.
§ Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and accuracy in work; and time management and organizational skills.
§ Demonstrated knowledge various accounting software packages such as Microsoft Office.
