The Compensation Specialist will have proven experience in personnel-related planning and decision-making around compensation. He/she will have the ability to conduct research and use data and analysis to deliver best in class compensation programs and policies. Duties include conducting position evaluations, assessing the budgetary impact of compensation decisions, running the annual compensation cycle, partnering with senior leaders across the Firm on compensation-related issues, and providing oversight of compliance with regulations and labor laws.
What you’ll do
• Act as the point of contact and subject matter expert for Firmwide compensation
• Review compensation ranges on an annual basis and provide recommendations for change based on external market data and trends
• Play a lead role in the global year-end bonus process and annual salary reviews through system preparation, testing, training, communication and analytical support
• Manage all compensation survey activities including the identification of new external data sources, survey participation and analysis of final results
• Advise Human Capital Business Partners, recruiting teams and members of Senior Management on compensation policies and practices
• Review existing compensation policies, programs, reporting and other initiatives and recommend best in class solutions
• Provide support for, and participate in, Compensation Committee meetings
• Maintain the compensation modules in Workday, which includes: running system audits, updating compensation plans, maintaining job profiles, creating compensation related reports and testing any system updates
• Work on compensation matters cross-functionally with groups such as Finance, IT, and Legal
• Participate in and/or lead special projects and Human Capital initiatives as assigned
What’s required
• Bachelor’s degree with 7 - 10 years in a Compensation Specialist / Consultant role, preferably in the financial services industry
• Experience working with large data sets and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner
• Detail-oriented, able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy
• Previous experience with Workday is strongly preferred
• Highly cooperative and collegial, entrepreneurial, energetic, passionate and appropriately competitive
