The Mastercard Operations & Technology (O&T) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Technology team supports the lifecycle of M&A activities, from strategic company/partner evaluation, through due diligence, to the guidance and support of integrations. This role will lead a cross-functional team of technologists to conduct business-value focused assessments of companies in support of mergers and acquisition initiatives.
The Role:
• Work with senior stakeholders across the organization (including operations and technology, corporate development/strategy, and global and regional product owners) to ensure consistent understanding of deal/partnership rationale and value drivers.
• Identify, create and lead team of appropriate technology subject matter experts to quickly and accurately assess target company’s technology and staff to deliver against identified business objectives.
• Request and review relevant sources of information from target companies, including technical documentation, on-site visits, and in-person interviews.
• Clearly understand, articulate and document insights as to the suitability of a target businesses to achieve identified strategic and business goals, including potential synergies, risks and mitigation strategies.
• Drive the creation of a technical integration strategy, high level solution architecture and technology costs to support deal value drivers.
• Provide continuity as deal progresses from pre-due diligence to diligence and into integration to ensure integration strategy and any deviations are understood and impacts identified and acknowledged by integration and management teams.

• Self-motivated individual with proficiency in engaging and influencing peers and business partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both technical and business, with ability to articulate technical recommendations, solutions, and rationale.
• Experience and comfort with communicating and coordinating with a diverse audience at all levels of the organization (technology and engineering staff up through C level).
• Capable of identifying technology requirements necessary to fully address business objectives.
• Accomplished in gathering inputs from team members to effectively and quickly evaluate a broad range of technical capabilities of target companies, across all technology domains.
• Strong architecture and system design skills.
• Skilled in recognising and defining repeatable architectural patterns and associated solutions.
• Experience in Architecture, Development, or other relevant IT experience, with knowledge across multiple Mastercard product lines.
• Deep understanding of Mastercard domains/capabilities and experience applying ESF.
• Aptitude to objectively rationalize and bring clarity to high pressured situations.
• Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) degree preferred.
