This position will be with AEGON Asset Management, the organization which oversees asset management for many of Transamerica's insurance and operating companies as well as third party clients. Position Overview: This position would be responsible for administrative oversight of certain fund products managed by Aegon AM which utilize external fund administrators for fund accounting, custody, and transfer agency functions
Responsibilities:
• Creation and review of, and compliance with, a suitable control environment for all fund oversight responsibilities
• Work with internal stakeholders for certain fund products requiring a fund structure – including but not limited to, review of relevant fund/client documents, operational requirements, and budget preparation
• Work with external fund administrator/s for product set up
• Work with internal stakeholders regarding fund operations and flow of information to/from external fund administrator
• Ensure completion of a review process for each fund by a defined timeframe in order for accurate client statements to be delivered by pre-determined deadlines
• Work with external fund administrator, internal audit, and external auditor for preparation and review of audited financial statements as well as ongoing control testing
• Work with internal/external tax accountants as needed
• Fast paced deadline-driven office environment, occasional travel
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting/Finance, or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, with degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Robust knowledge of securities investment accounting and financial statement preparation preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, ability to handle multiple projects, willingness to take on new projects, ability to problem solve quickly and have a client-focused approach. Work effectively individually and within a team.
Engage organizational and prioritization skills, and use effective judgment.
