Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) is a global function which partners with Capital Group business units to provide a variety of services that support the enterprise mission and business strategies. Operating primarily in North America, core functions include strategic sourcing (includes multiple spend categories), procurement operations, contingent labor management and business management. Together, these services ensure third party spend and supplier relationships are actively managed to deliver optimal business results.
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Irvine, you will play a critical role leading a team responsible for establishing and executing sourcing strategies and plans that support business partner and enterprise-wide priorities. You will be responsible for managing business partner relationship and serve as a primary contact for strategic sourcing related activities related to Corporate Services (HR, Finance, Accounting, Office Services), Sales Distribution & Marketing, Mutual Fund Servicing, and Investment Operations. Additionally, as a member of the SS&P senior management team, you will have broad responsibilities for setting goals and objectives for the department as well as long-term, strategic planning and direct involvement in the performance management process for associates.
Responsibilities:
• Works closely with Business Partner contacts to ensure that sourcing/procurement/contracting needs of business units are being met; proactively manage Business Partner relationships by initiating open communication and collaborating to understand strategic sourcing objectives
• Manages strategic sourcing teams through execution of end-to-end sourcing, contracting, contract management, and supplier management processes including advising team on project planning, sourcing strategies, negotiation tactics and participating in negotiations on large or more complex engagements
• Manages key relationships with strategic suppliers and proactively engage suppliers to ensure initial and on-going objectives are met; defines key performance indicators, service level agreements, defines key performance indicators and holds suppliers accountable
• Serves as an escalation point on vendor issues and guides and supports staff in owning supplier relationships
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of strategic sourcing experience in a management function and/or relevant operational or consulting experience in financial services industry
• Experience in organizational transformation and capability building and managing project teams in a matrixed environment
• Demonstrates ability to influence senior business leaders on strategic business matters
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, analytical, and problem solving skills in areas of high complexity, ambiguity and diversity
• Demonstrates ability to lead and manage complex projects of significant scope across the organization
• Demonstrates ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives
• A degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration and Professional Sourcing Certification strongly desired
