Job Description
The Discover Lean / Special Operations Group utilizes Lean methodologies to tackle a wide range of highly visible business challenges across the company. A Lean Associate works with a team led by a project manager and should understand how to execute using Lean tools with little oversight. This individual can expect high visibility with senior leaders and the unique opportunity to manage key stakeholder relationships. Success in this position requires the development of collaborative relationships and delivery of measurable results through Lean projects. This position must be located in Riverwoods, IL, due to the level of interaction with headquarters-based business partners.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive analysis with ownership and an independent, but client-first mindset
• Perform data collection and conduct in-depth analyses to generate key insights for projects
• Work with relevant business units and team members to understand customer needs, map current states, drive root-cause analysis, and design future states
• Use key metrics to measure business-unit performance and monitor process performance over time
• Build relationships with all project constituents and stakeholders
• Communicate with management about project progress, results, and assistance needed
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes.
Skills
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree. Particular interest in engineers
• 0- 1 year of work experience in Lean Six Sigma or related continuous improvement areas
• Proficiency in performing the measurement and analysis phases of DMAIC
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Skills
• Yellow or Green Belt Certification in Lean Six-Sigma
• 1+ years of experience in managing cross functional projects with proven results
• Experience with Minitab and/or Visio
• Experience querying large data sets within Teradata and/or SAS environment
• 1+ years of experience in financial services, consulting, or a similar industry
