Job Description
Responsible for managing the daily operations of the loan reconciliation team including overseeing a team of analysts tasked with performing comprehensive loan file reviews and loss reconciliations once all expected proceeds/settlements have been received. Partners with department leadership in providing structure and oversight of Final Loss Reconciliation routines/processes and adherence to investor, insurer, MI, and internal guidelines in order to ensure maximize recovery and minimize losses and risk. Consults with various business units to identify risk and/or loss exposure and assists in developing procedural recommendations and/or process remediation.
• Staff, train, and manage performance of the loan reconciliation team
• Manage team inventory, aging, and workflow
• Oversee the daily activity of the loan reconciliation team including review of completed loan files, reconciling financial transactions to ensure maximum recovery, preparing monthly reports on monetary losses, presenting losses to management in regular established loss forums, negotiating full or partial settlements, consulting with various business units to identify risk or exposure to losses and develop procedural recommendations
• Audit functions/QA of key processes and procedures to ensure strict compliance to investor, insurer, MI, and internal guidelines
• Assist in the development of internal policies and procedures in coordination with Claims, Default, and other related departments
• Ensure data accuracy
• Manage and monitor daily workflow, track results and provide applicable reporting to department leadership
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Preferred Qualifications
Required Minimum Education:
4 Year college degree (Bachelor) or equivalent work experience
Minimum Years of Experience:
3+ years
• Highly motivated individual with strong time management skills
• Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical, and sound judgment skills
• Aptitude for data and reporting
• Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
• Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
• Previous management experience in the Financial Services or related experience preferred
Post Foreclosure Claims and/or Default-related experience preferred
