Job Description
The Mainframe Production Control Analyst (PCA) is responsible for the operation of all technical infrastructure and the day-to-day operations of the organization's IT systems. The PCA is accountable for maintaining the development, test, and production environment through scheduled maintenance, incident management, change management, problem management, configuration management and vendor relationship management. The PCA also engages in the support of disaster recovery activities and works in a global environment.
The PCA is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Production Control for low to moderate complexity situations and incidents. The PCA assists in planning all batch job processing work.
1. Fulfill standard work requests
2. Work with others to plan low to moderate complexity system maintenance and batch processing work
3. Manage, prioritize, and respond to low to moderate complexity inquiries
4. Implement daily production schedule activities across the Mainframe platform.
5. Manage the diagnosis and resolution of low to moderate complexity events or incidents.
6. Create and maintain operational, compliance, regulatory, and control documentation.
7. Identify and rectify the basic operational exceptions and error conditions.
8. Conduct investigations into basic operational problems and make proposals for improvement and automation
9. Initiate documenting detailed operational procedures with appropriate technical input.
Job Qualifications
• 2+ years experience in computer operations or production control environment
• Efficient computer skills with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook experience
• Excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task
• Possess analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Education: College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Ability to read and understand structured code is a plus. Examples: JCL, ISPF, SDSF, COBOL, zOS, JES
• Navigation skills in a multi-sysplex Mainframe environment a plus
• Enterprise Scheduling Program (ESP) experience is a plus
• Work Schedule: 7:45am – 4:15pm EST, rotational weekends and rotational holidays are required. Schedule could be subject to change.
