POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President, Trading Governance will support the Trading and Research Governance team, with a primary focus on transaction cost analysis (TCA), producing materials for Boards, committees and clients, and supporting development and maintenance of in-house and vendor trading and analytics systems. The Vice President will also take a leadership role in overseeing counterparty/broker responsibilities, including but not limited to managing the counterparty selection process globally. The role includes project-oriented work that will change based on evolving business needs.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Produce and evaluate regular and ad hoc analysis of implicit and explicit trading costs across trading desks globally
• Lead the counterparty/broker approval process, including overseeing annual reviews and maintenance of the firm approved counterparty/broker lists
• Assess existing and prospective technology systems to advise on gaps, new system development and/or vendor selection based on industry best practices
• Interface with professionals across business functions, including the Operations, Trading and investment teams; participate in/ conduct meetings with traders, IT developers, and vendors
• Develop standard and customized presentation materials for quarterly governance committees and fund Boards
• Review news feeds, corporate screening reports and headlines for potential risks (e.g. AML issues) concerning trading counterparties
• Draft language for governance documents, RFPs and due diligence questionnaires
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
• Minimum six years of work experience in asset management, consulting or a related field
• Four-year college degree with courses in quantitative subject matters and/or finance
• Series 7, CFA or other certifications that demonstrate industry knowledge are beneficial but not required

• Possess an intellectual curiosity and ability to problem solve using available tools and resources
• Detail-oriented and organized with an inherent interest in improving/optimizing processes
• Ability to work independently and steer projects to completion
• Mastery knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (macros, advanced formulas and superior data organization techniques) and PowerPoint (charts and graphs with meticulous attention to formatting)
• Ability to synthesize large sets of data into concise summaries, presentations and reports
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using portfolio analytics software and/or trading systems, with experience onboarding systems preferred but not required
• Knowledge of global buy-side asset management regulations and best practices
• Buy-side experience preferred
