Position Summary
The Learning & Development Specialist I plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of tasks related to the Guild University and Human Resources functions. This role is responsible, under general supervision, for the assessment, design, delivery and evaluation of company-wide learning and development programs. This role will also liaise with professional staff and/or Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to develop and conduct both new training offerings and refresh existing training programs
• Essential Functions Curate/structure content and ultimately create and deliver engaging learning events.
• Design trainings with content customization using the ADDIE or other related models.
• Set up registration, monitor student enrollment, and prepare workshop material (e.g. handouts, case studies).
• Collaborate with the manager to solicit, build, and track development of training program deliverables including pre-work requirements, agenda, feedback survey, and homework.
• Complete all training event follow-up tasks including compiling workshop survey results, recording exam scores, and sending class evaluations, analyze outcome and provide recommendations for any necessary improvements.
• Stay abreast of new training approaches, tools, processes and techniques and integrate accordingly.
• Responsible for selecting relevant training methods and materials, and provide recommendation to the L & D Manager, when appropriate.
• Prepare LMS (Learning Management System) reports; as well as, ad hoc customization reports; maintain files and statistics on learning programs and activities.
• Deliver Assist the Learning and Development team with delivering in-person trainings.
• Provide administrative support in preparing course curriculum content and presentations.
• Respond to employee inquiries.
• Provide assistance with new hire onboarding and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management or training experience commensurate in lieu of education/degree.
• At least two years’ experience in training delivery, either online or in-person presentation.
• Must have strong organization skills and demonstrate a very high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills (prioritizing and follow-up).
• Prior experience developing and updating course content and coordinating learning curriculum, required.
• Proficiency with data entry, PDF software programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.
• Professional Certification(s): DISC preferred.
• Training delivery of programs focused on leadership, customer service, and soft-skills, preferred.
• Ability to comfortably interact with all levels of employees, including frontline team members through executive leadership.
• Self-motivated, proactive, ability to work effectively in cross-functional, deadline- and metric-driven, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and keep momentum on each and manage to project due dates
• Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with both internal and external customers.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ethical, with a commitment to company values.

Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
Environmental: Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
