Job Description
Everest Reinsurance is seeking a HR Business Analyst to work in their Technology Services department, while supporting the HR Systems exclusively, in their Liberty Corner, New Jersey headquarters.
The Business Analyst will align with the company’s Human Resources Department to drive a strategic approach to the organization’s utilization of technology.
The HR Business Analyst will partner with senior HR management and practitioners to develop this strategic vision aimed at enhancing the department’s efficiency and effectiveness. Initially the role will focus on the HRIS systems and processes currently in place, but will also evaluate alternatives to current systems and lead future implementation efforts to adapt new/better HR technology solutions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand and fulfill the Human Resources vision and roadmap
• Work with all areas of HR to evaluate business processes and system capabilities and make recommendations and proposals for improvements
• Perform analysis for HRIS integrations, new system implementations, and new functionality in existing systems
• Develop project proposals and estimates that reflect understanding of business needs and relevant technology solutions
• Employ proper elicitation techniques to ensure requirements are appropriately and efficiently identified, analyzed and documented using industry standard analysis techniques.
• Work with project managers to map business requirements to project deliverables, resource planning & project plans. Provide input into project plans, cost and/or resource estimating activities. May function as project lead on smaller efforts.
• Document and distribute user facing release notes/communications
• Manage process to select and evaluate new vendor products
• Serve as liaison between HR business area and the various service areas within Everest Technology Services and other affected areas
• Provide ongoing production support, including responding to user issues, collaborating with the technical team to analyze and resolve reported system issues and communicating the resolution of issues to the business community
• May often have responsibility for the configuration and maintenance of reference tables, vendor applications, or reporting and dashboard tools
• Collaborate with business peers to establish coordinated QA and UAT test plans and acceptance criteria
• Provide support for user acceptance testing and test defect resolution
• Conforms to Company standards and practices to comply with Internal Audit and SOX controls
Work Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst working in the Human Resources domain with an understanding of recruiting, benefits and payroll, Practitioner experience a plus
• HRIS and HR related system experience, knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus
• Experience working with the entire Software Development Life Cycle, whether Agile or Waterfall
• Strong ability to perform and document analysis of complex business, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making
• Critical thinking and ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
• Effective at presenting and facilitating a variety of formal and informal meetings: one-on-one, small and large groups
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills
• Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• IIBA/Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) desired
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Microsoft Project
