This position is responsible for finalizing advertising concepts initiated by the Creative team, which involves managing routings to obtain feedback and secure approvals from Compliance, AARP and other NYL stakeholders. He/she determines how revisions can be incorporated while maintaining the creative integrity of the advertising material, and then communicates directed instruction to an external Production Agency to execute those changes. Prior to handing off the advertising material to the Production team, this position will solve for a variety of challenges, and verify final requirements from Compliance, AARP, NYL teams, etc. are met.
Work closely with Creative and Production teams, NYL stakeholders and external agencies to produce effective creative test packages that achieve strategic objectives. Some responsibilities include:
• Manage routings for review and approval of creative materials with Compliance, AARP and other stakeholders
• Incorporate feedback from routings into creative, ensuring brand standards and creative integrity are maintained, format aligns with specifications and/or copy is grammatically correct
• Edit requested changes for relevance and question those that do not fit the strategic makeup of the concept; propose solutions, negotiate changes as needed, and implement agreed upon edits to advertising material
• Actively manage projects and corresponding schedules in project management tool (Aprimo)
• Work closely with external Production Agency to implement changes and finalize artwork preparation
• Collaborate with Creative on significant edit requests
• Ensure Production team has all relevant specifications for advertising material
• Discuss and understand winning concept elements with Creative partner for potential application in future test materials
• Possess working knowledge of Compliance regulation to incorporate product requirements into new creative; remain up-to-date on Global changes and Product Summary
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications preferred
-5+ years preferred Experience:
• Direct response marketing/advertising and/or corporate communications experience including execution of marketing strategy to develop concepts for direct mail, print advertising, fulfillment and collateral.
• Above-average level of experience working with agency resources to implement creative changes.
• Subject matter expertise in copywriting and editing.
• Ability to identify and solve for changes that redirects creative approach to layout/design and/or copy.
• Possess strong interpersonal communication (both oral and written), time management and project management skills.
• Demonstrate analytical abilities, self-motivation, independence, attention to detail and flexibility in multi-tasking.
• Requires a strong comprehension of editing, grammar and tone
• Proficient in utilizing a workflow tool to manage projects
• Understanding of print production
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe
