Position Summary:
The primary objective of the Bankruptcy Supervisor is to oversee a team or teams within the bankruptcy department to ensure established goals are met while maintaining compliance with regards to investors, trustees and federal bankruptcy rules to mitigate loss to the company. In addition, this position is responsible for developing staff, reviewing procedures to identify and resolve process gaps and maintaining accurate reporting
Essential Functions:
• Provide necessary guidance for staff development, providing appropriate Bankruptcy procedures and processes
• Conduct recruitment, training, and employee reviews
• Ensure departmental goals and activities are on track by identifying new and better means for handling accounts
• Maintaining accurate reports, bankruptcy database, audits and general knowledge of bankruptcy procedures and industry trends
• Contact person for all litigation and bankruptcy between trustees, attorneys including General Counsel.
• Develop and maintain professional image of department
• Demonstrate awareness and adherence to applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures and finance programs, as well changes to Federal Bankruptcy Legislation
Qualifications:
Education:
• College degree preferred or relevant business experience
• General knowledge of bankruptcy laws and continually keeping updated on laws and regulations
Experience:
• 3-5 years supervisory experience
• 1-3 years Bankruptcy or Mortgage Default Servicing experience
• FNMA experienced preferred
Skills:
• Familiar with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Familiar with MSP preferred
• Strong supervisory/leadership skills
• Skilled communicator/negotiator
• Sound numeric aptitude
• Superior organizational and follow-through skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Ability to continually update knowledge on bankruptcy laws and regulations
