TCF Winthrop Resources is currently looking for an Accountant IV with a passion for system & databases to join their team in Minnetonka
Position Summary
Ownership of financial aspects of transaction management and other financial systems and databases. Responsible for design and maintenance of all workbooks, reports and analyses produced from systems. Work will consist of analysis and review of journal entries, financial statements, budgets/forecasts, and preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis. Oversees system performance and productivity. Individual performer who may review and direct work for other team members. Key liaison to other internal TCF groups, management and external vendors.
Major Areas of Accountability
• Coordinates interaction with third–party and internal software developers on improvement of systems to ensure efficient production. Responsible for the validity of all data and calculations within the system.
• Oversees and analyzes financial reports and statistical data. Reviews complex journal entries and writes complex technical system procedures. Leads special projects for the department.
• Prepares and reviews management reporting and analysis for production/forecast results. Ensures the results are in accordance with the business objectives set forth by operating management to provide management with feedback on achievement of goals.
• Works with management to identify and develop enhanced reporting. Develops reporting routines to respond to the requests of management. Identifies and incorporates enhanced reporting techniques into existing processes. Approves system changes and process enhancements
• Assists with the development of processes, internal controls, policies, and procedures. Approves maintenance requests and updates reconciliation and accounting policies.
• Responsible for system performance and productivity. Oversees system administrator for database application, testing, user administration, security access and end-user training. Responsible for software maintenance and installation of upgrades.
• Serves as key liaison and communicator for the group with other internal TCF departments and external software vendors. Oversees maintenance process and installation of upgrades to ensure system functionality. Escalates issues and opportunities to the management group.
• May have direct and/or indirect supervisory responsibilities including training, managing priorities of others, and communicating performance issues to management.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Four-year degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience
• Six or more years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance or related field OR 4-6 years experience with advanced degree or certification
• Two or more years of exposure to financial application design and data management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong problem solving ability and organizational skills
• Solid communications skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Strong leadership and proven project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Four or more years of exposure to financial application design/development and system administration
• Ability to read and interpret technical research and reports and apply information to specific business situations
• Experience with Essbase and complex financial transaction management systems
