The Senior Audience Specialist is responsible for establishing the business priorities for the delivery team and acts as the primary interface to the client segment team. She/he defines the marketing strategy for theAdvisor Sold Retirement Plan (ASRP) Pod in conjunction with marketing leadership and ensures execution is aligned to marketing and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Establishes the business priorities for the audience by working with client segment teams, cross-functional partners and marketing leadership to define business problems and develop the situation assessment, identify business opportunities and recommend a solution
• Develops and implements the marketing strategy for the target audience to achieve the desired change in audience behavior or attitudes by engaging with cross-functional partners that include marketing research, sales and product teams to develop powerful insights that drive the achievement of business objectives
• Partners with cross-functional marketing team to develop and deploy marketing programs by leading an agile team and delivering via agile methodologies and practices
• Translates business problems into creative direction by developing a focused brief, evaluates creative direction via this brief and provides effective and constructive feedback
• Maintains a client-facing role along with marketing managers and senior managers to deeply understand the audience and client
• Lead the establishment and the delivery of the joint score card for the target audience and the delivery team’s mission by measuring audience engagement and making necessary changes to ensure outcomes align with marketing goals
• Develops detailed presentations that describe key initiatives, including primary objectives, strategies, tactics and results to date. These presentations will help keep POD members informed, in addition to key ASRP stakeholders, cross-functional partners, other PODs and senior marketing leadership
• Provides leadership for the team by serving as a positive role model and ensuring assignments are completed on time
Requirements:
• 7+ years of experience in marketing including content marketing, social media, search and other marketing channels, preferably in financial services/asset management environment
• Highly strategic mindset and comfortable navigating ambiguity
• Experience turning on new channels of distribution, and/or developing channel-specific sales & marketing plans
• Ability to lead and manage complex projects across multiple functions, teams and groups
• Ability to collaborate and develop/maintain strong working relationships, especially with the sales organization, to enable effective attainment of business objectives
• In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and best practices, particularly in digital marketing (high digital IQ), and ability to apply it to projects
• Flexibility to travel in the field up to 30% of the time
• BA required, MBA preferred
