Opportunity Overview
Department Summary-Insurance Operations
Responsible for effectively and accurately processing routine and non-routine activities by drawing on multiple information sources. Activities may not follow a pre-determined path, rather will require discretion and use of judgment. Functions may include, but are not limited to: verifying clients/non-clients, research on accounts using multiple different tools and programs, and the ability to effectively communicate with branches, internal headquarter associates and vendors.
Opportunity Overview:
•Responsible for overall performance of the Insurance Operations team including establishing and achieving key performance indicators, key goals and objectives, risk mitigation and compliance with supervisory procedures and regulations.
• Responsible for delivering functional results through the systematic design of processes, workflows, and controls and through the integration of technology and people.
• Full managerial responsibility for as many as 15 associates and accountable for associate development, performance, process improvement, and business results of the team.
• Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders (other areas in the firm, clients, vendors, and industry organizations) impacted by the functions of the team.
• Responsible for process improvement of the team and at times the department, working with other departments and divisions as required developing new processes and systems to support our products and services.
• Interprets and applies, where appropriate, industry applications to existing internal systems and processes which could impact cost, headcount, and service to clients.
• Takes on multiple complex assignments and projects and see them through to completion with little to no direction from direct leader, while continuing to manage and monitor risks and controls on their team and ensure team completes all responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Anticipates, analyzes, and investigates issues and implements solutions to team, department, and in some cases multiple department problems regarding processes, systems, products, regulation, data collection, data quality, resource allocation, controls, and costs.
• Interprets and applies, where appropriate, industry applications to existing internal systems and processes which could impact cost, headcount, and service to clients
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Concentration in business, accounting, finance or management are preferred, but other concentrations will be considered.
• Series 7 and 66 required within 12 months of start date. Must obtain State Insurance License within 90 days of hire
• 2 or more years operational leadership experience in the financial services industry highly preferred.
• Must have industry knowledge and skills in the areas of product, processes, risks, controls, and/or automation and use that knowledge to produce results.
• Must be knowledgeable in capacity planning.
• Must be knowledgeable in project management.
• Must have knowledge of the technology and tools available internally (e.g. EUC solutions) as well as externally to provide solutions and create process efficiencies
