Job description, responsibilities and duties
ING is looking for an experienced Team Leader with experience in operational management and/or working in a shared service environment. Numbers are your best friend and you have a fact-based approach. You dare question the status quo, have a change mind-set and an eye for improvements. You’ll manage a team of Know Your Customer (KYC) Analysts, who ensure that ING offers services and products to ethical companies only. Something for you?
How are you and your team contributing to ING?
You:
• are responsible for the timely and accurate completion of KYC files in the assigned portfolio, including customer on-boarding, renewals and event-driven reviews of customer files following business priorities
• organise daily operational stand-ups with your team of 10-15 people of a major department and participate in departmental retrospective meetings to balance the workload
• liaise with business to ascertain information and gain insights on transaction volumes
• align and interact with the business and other stakeholders on workload, prioritization and escalating to the operational manager in case of issues
• enhance the operational maturity and mind-set of your team
Your team:
• is the first line of defense against money laundering and terrorist financing
• performs non-financial risk assessment of customers
• identifies the types of business relations and activities that a customer is likely to engage in
• determines whether these relations and activities could be suspicious and expose the bank to potential financial loss or reputational risk
Thanks to you and your team ING knows how risky every customer is, how often the customer has to be checked and how far the research should go.

• is fluent in English (C1 level)
• has a minimum of 2-4 year experience with managing an operational team; Client Service experience and/or Front Office experience is preferred
• is experienced in working in a global, fast changing environment
• is a self-starter, able to prioritize tasks and work independently when needed
• is a team player, able to work in partnership with other individuals on day-to-day and long-term goals
• (optionally) has knowledge of FEC / AML policies
• can take ownership and follow up on issues in a timely manner
• has analytical skills and is able to cascade information based on facts and figures
• has strong stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbally)
• empowers people through leadership, coaching skills and by acting as a role model
