Fidelity Bank is seeking a Bank Teller to interact with our customers on a daily basis, our tellers take the lead in building lasting relationships, supporting our customers in achieving their financial goals and being the face of Fidelity Bank throughout the communities we serve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve customers at a teller station and processes a variety of transactions, using his/her own judgment within narrow limits regarding the validity of transactions presented. Refers questionable transactions to Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager.
◦ Receives commercial and personal checking deposits; verifies coin and currency, endorsements on negotiable items and issues receipt
◦ Accepts checks for cashing or paying; verifies endorsement, negotiability and funds availability; exchanges coin/currency; refers large or unusual transactions to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager.
◦ Receives savings deposits; pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature.
◦ Receives mortgage, installment loan, commercial loan, charge card or other payments, checking the date due and assessing late charges when applicable.
◦ Sells money orders, cashier's checks, U.S. savings bonds, traveler's checks, and processes cash advances and buys and sells foreign currency.
• Functions as the bank's primary contact with the public. Serves customers in a cordial manner to encourage service satisfaction.
• Sells additional bank services or recognizes and develops opportunities to refer prospects to the appropriate employee in areas such as mortgage, brokerage, and commercial areas of the bank.
• Prepares accurate and timely daily teller's report. Must perform in accordance with established teller over and short policy.
• Assures only minimum amount of cash necessary for efficient operations is kept in teller's top drawer; removes excesses immediately to locked lower drawer, inner vault or sells to the Lead teller. Maintains maximum security over these drawers and other valuables on hand throughout daily operations.
• Assists other tellers and branch personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the branch.
• Serves as a backup for other tellers.
• Responsible for security of workspace, cash, negotiables, and other items as needed within the branch.
• Please exhibit good product knowledge. Always try to listen to the customer for hints as to products and services that they may need to cross sell products or refer to the appropriate person.
• Responsible for meeting established monthly teller and sales goals.
