Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVES
The Retail KYC Strategy and Operations Manager leads a key risk management role, in which they will establish run and develop the First Line of Defense to ensure business line initiatives and processes comply with applicable laws and regulations
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define and execute key initiatives involving KYC strategy and operations in the Branch Administration function through the tracking of changes in regulatory requirements, analysis of opportunities for operational improvement and strategic partnership with the Risk function, BSA, and other key stakeholders
• Manage the data analysis and reporting function for the Branch Admin organization while identifying opportunities to streamline and improve working efficiencies, process, procedures, workflows, metrics, etc.
• Develop implement train and communicate Risk and Compliance Management initiatives within the Branch Admin department and the Retail Branch network
• Oversee and manage the daily activities of the KYC team to ensure the Bank is in compliance with BSA policy pertaining to CIP, KYC, CDD, and OFAC and that all new accounts are established following current procedures
• Execute regular compliance risk assessments to evaluate inherent and residual compliance risk within Retail Banking and to support an informed view of the branches quantity of compliance risk and quality for compliance management
• Facilitate and implement changes to compliance policies in response to changes in compliance laws and regulations that affect the line of business while taking prompt and appropriate action to correct compliance issues identified through or by the Compliance department, quality assurance, self-assessments, internal audit, or third party compliance examinations
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree a plus
• 10+ years of well rounded banking experience that includes strategy, finance, operations, legal, technology
• Must have a strong background in compliance and risk management specifically in KYC Regulations
• Strong influencing and communication skills
• Strong organizational change management skills
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Superior analytical skills and ability to quickly synthesize to drive decision-making
• Proven project management skills and result orientation
• Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements and operating procedures to various business lines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a challenging, fast paced environment.
• Ability to conduct interviews and gather information from various sources such as process owners, subject-matter experts, and other sources
• Must be a personable team player with a strong knowledge of branch technology, systems, and applications
• Working knowledge of key banking laws and regulations required
• CAMS certification desired
