Associate IT Project Manager oversees one or more projects on an ongoing and regular basis. Individually, or as part of a team, responsible for project planning and statusing, risk management, and issue resolution. Duties may include: assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project, communicating project status and issues to team and management, acting to reduce risk and resolve issues. Coordinates with other projects and work groups.
Essential Functions
• Developing project deliverables including project plans, schedules, and status reports
• Conducts risk monitoring and controls during a project’s duration to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes, on time and on budget
• Manage project budgets :including develops project cost estimates and forecasting
• Participate in the creation and execution of project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
• May assist Project Managers in the administration/coordination of a project or have responsibility over a smaller scale project or project area.
• Track project information, follow up on issue status, resolve routine issues, report status to management
• Gather information, prepare and maintain on-going reports for management
• Prepare project plans
• Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
• Prepare and send communications to a wide range of team members.
• Write draft level functional specs or gather information/requirements for specs.
• May facilitate status meetings.
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
• 2 – 4 years of IT Project Manager experience
• 4 years’ experience or more with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Visio), must have advance skills
• 2- 4 years’ experience with Microsoft Project and PPM Tools
• Understanding varies IT delivery methodologies – Agile, Waterfall, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Title insurance/Mortgage acumen preferred
• Professional communication is a must: Communicates project status to team and business owners throughout the duration of the assignment to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities related to the project
• Ability to self-start and be versatile in a dynamic environment
• Strong problem solving skills
• Listen to others and accept input from team members
• Ability to build team cohesiveness to achieve results.
Typical Education
• BS/BA preferred or equivalent experience.
