Job Description
This position will serve as a liaison with Credit & Decision Management (CDM) and Card Operations (CO) business partners, Corporate Risk Management (CRM), Legal, other Business Risk Offices, and other Business Units (as applicable) by executing various Preventative Risk Management activities and initiatives to support CDM and CO. This role within Business Risk Office engages collaboratively with CDM and COs business partners to enhance their preventative risk management framework through providing effective challenge and implementing corporate governance programs.
This individual will play an integral role in implementing programs that increase CDM and COs competitive advantage while enabling the business to make more informed decisions. The candidate will support and enhance Preventative Risk Management activities for which they are assigned while working collaboratively with management, internal business partners, and peers. This position will support CDM and COs Business Risk Office department with responsibilities that can vary across a number of different Preventative Risk Management functions.

This position will support CDMCOs Business Risk Office department with responsibilities that can vary across a number of different Preventative Risk Mgmt. functions:
• Conduct Process Reviews across first-line departments to ensure efficient and effective controls are implemented to mitigate inherent risks.
• Assess business line processes by conducting Risk Assessments to evaluate risk (e.g., operational, legal/compliance, etc.) and control environments.
• Work closely with business partners on completing required documents and facilitating discussions related to submissions for the New Initiatives process.
• Manage the Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) process and provide business partners with guidance to improve/maintain the associated risk and control library.
• Ensure business partners comply with guidelines set forth by Corporate Risk in management of Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to business partners relative to Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) activities ensuring high quality and an appropriate level of due diligence is performed.
• Provide guidance and support to business partners relative to Records Management activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and CRM to maintain business compliance with the End User Computing Policy.
• Ensure business partners adhere to Corporate Risk standards through effective challenge (e.g. utilize standardized effective challenge templates) related to Preventative Risk Management activities.
• Assist in managing various components of the training life-cycle.
• Create and deliver reporting and presentations regarding Preventative Risk Management activities.
• Manage adhoc projects as directed by management.
• Promote a risk aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Skills
• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years Credit card or financial industry, business risk management, corporate risk management, compliance or regulatory industry, internal audit, legal
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong degree of skill with project management, time management, and attention to detail
• Excellent negotiation skills and analytical thinking skills
• Excellent relationship building and consulting skills
• Working knowledge of financial and operational internal control methodologies and terminologies, and process and control industry standards
• Excellent organization skills, self-starter, and highly disciplined
• Professional certification within the fields of compliance or audit (CAMS/CRCM/CIA)
• LEAN or Six Sigma Certification
• Process design or process engineering experience
• Knowledge of Discover business processes, procedures, and systems
• Familiarity with Archer and SharePoint
• Knowledge of internal auditing standard & requirements
