Opportunity Overview
The Cost Basis Transfer team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of cost basis transferring internally and externally. Also, the team is responsible for update inheritance adjustments per IRS regulations.
This position has responsibility for accomplishing technical or advanced business area specific functions including identifying, mitigating and resolving issues that may have legal, regulatory, financial, or client service risk. The position is required to gain an understanding of rules & regulations and the impact they have on the business area functions, systems and controls; along with identifying inherent and potential risks including recommendations to mitigate them.
The position has a variety of daily and periodic responsibilities based on the business area, and may require a working knowledge of specific product or financial services industry rules, processes, systems and controls.
Position Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry or related field is required. Familiarity with industry or business area specific regulations is preferred
• Knowledge of and experience with complex systems and information required.
• Operations functional knowledge, including account processing, securities, cash, dividends and tax may be necessary based on the specific role
• Ability to make recommendations to resolve and improve system issues preferred
• Must have ability to identify process improvement opportunities and may be required to test system enhancements and understand downstream impact to other systems
• Ability to provide excellent communication and service to branch offices, home office associates and vendors required
• Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and effectively manage time.
• Ability to acquire analytical skills, develop intermediate skills in creating spreadsheets/formulas, and running Hyperion queries
