Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Risk Analyst to join our Private Banking team. In this role you will be responsible for the execution of risk and control best practices in the Private Banking business. This primarily includes reviewing KYC requirements for private banking accounts, as well as taking actions to support a proper control environment. You will work closely with Front Office Relationship Managers and staff, Front Office Administration, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance (especially KYC/AML), OGC and Internal Audit. To be successful, you will need strong relationship management skills and an analytical mindset.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
• Support PB risk management objectives and goals
• Perform assessment of Client Risk for new accounts, reviewing and approving as appropriate
• Work with Relationship Management teams to ensure client accounts adhere to current business and regulatory standards
• Enhance processes to evaluate client risk in the business by client type and/or business area
• Perform on going account and transaction monitoring
• Review, and approve as appropriate Private Client transactions outside the scope of centralized trading for Transactional Risk
• Review all high risk CID renewals to ensure compliance with the Firm's AML program requirements
• Develop enhanced reporting through use of excel macros and access databases as needed.
• Document risk procedures
• Identify patterns and trends to solve risk related problems.
• Analyze business processes, identify risks, assess risk levels and identify mitigating controls.
• Prepare presentations for senior management.
• Assemble risk based reports for senior management.
• Follow up on issues with senior management to improve the control environment.
• Support and participate in regulatory and compliance training, as required.
• Support and participate in internal and external audits, as required.
• Participate in special projects, as requested.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience
• Understanding of risk management policies and methodologies
• Ability to analyze business processes to identify risks, assess risk levels and identify mitigating controls
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify patterns and trends
• Knowledge of investment and trading processes, policies and systems
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• Knowledge of KYC requirements
