Information and Insights is a department within Capital Group’s Investment Operations, with presence in Southern California, London, and Singapore. Information and Insights is focused on a number of business critical activities such as uncovering and explaining the “why” of fund and portfolio results, supporting the Capital System through portfolio structures and analyst indices, and ensuring all data is compliant with regulatory and professional standards, just to name a few.
As a Fixed Income Attribution Analyst based in Los Angeles, CA, within the Fixed Income and Distribution team, you will be focused on engaging with our business partners to deliver timely and accurate performance measurement and analysis. You will be involved in the implementation of a new Fixed Income operating system and Fixed Income attribution system.
Responsibilities:
• Measure performance by calculating, validating, maintaining, and interpreting portfolio results for retail mutual funds, institutional accounts, composites, Portfolio Managers, and Research Analysts
• Evaluate performance using portfolio attribution, style analysis, benchmark analysis, transaction and holding analysis (portfolio concentration, portfolio turnover, etc.)
• Optimize processes by automating, enhancing or developing new, to mitigate risks
• Deliver business intelligence and reporting using Excel, Tableau, Crystal Reports, or Business Objects to develop creative and compelling exhibits
• Participate in departmental projects while partnering with other business units such as our Information Technology Group
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, management information systems, or other quantitative fields
• CIPM, CFA, and/or FRM, related MBA, or significant experience in the field, preferred
• 3+ years of attribution and portfolio analysis experience
• Experience with related systems: FactSet Portfolio Analysis, Point, Bloomberg, MorningStar Direct, BISAM B-ONE, Tableau, Business Objects, Crystal, etc.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, charting data, formatting charts, complex formulas, etc.)
• Data modeling, data manipulation skills, or experience with data warehouse design
• Intellectual curiosity with a passion for problem solving
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
