ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Compiles lists of prospective customers via current membership and outside public to provide leads for additional business.
• Contacts and qualifies prospective members/customers and explains features and merits of policies offered, recommending amount and type of coverage based on analysis of prospect's circumstances.
• Builds key relationships with community contacts that facilitate growth of insurance sales that include real estate agents, mortgage brokers, title/closing companies and other related industries.
• Calculates and quotes premium rates for recommended policies.
• Calls on life policyholders to deliver and explain policy, to suggest additions or changes in insurance program, or to make changes in beneficiaries.
• Collects new business premiums from policyholders and processes them based on policies and procedures.
• Helps policyholders report insurance claims in the event of a loss.
• Offers AAA membership for eligibility on discounts for certain carries to non-AAA members.
• Leads are obtained via Internet, 800#, direct mail, referrals, or walk-ins, and vary for Contact Center and Branch Agent positions.
• Anticipates future needs and calls on established members/customers to renew and upgrade accounts.
• Develops long-term relationships with members/customers and underwriters and assigned Customer Service Representatives (CSR).
• Accomplish minimum production standards.
• Adhere to AAA’s Quality Control Program for New Business processing.
• Working knowledge of membership benefits and membership system. Familiarity with products and resources of other AAA departments.
• Ensure department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner by adhering to Company and departmental attendance policies as documented in the Employee Attendance Policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year minimum insurance sales experience for Level I.
• Knowledge of industry laws, practices, and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated sales ability required.
• Successful completion of Insurance Agent training modules by Contract Level required.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty (P&C) lines, and billing, claims, policy issuance, and underwriting required.
• Ability to build relationships with industry contacts, such as company underwriters, members, community contacts.
• Thorough knowledge of the scope of an agent’s authority required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and oral; telephone and problem-solving ability/skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills required and ability to multi-task and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office platform of products preferred (Word/Excel); E-mail, and Internet knowledge necessary. Ability to learn new systems.
• Working knowledge of Applied System a plus
• Working knowledge of AAA Membership preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate related peripheral computer equipment; scanner; fax machines; printers, postage machine, shredder, and multi-line telephone system.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess Oklahoma or South Dakota Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.
• Must possess valid Oklahoma or South Dakota drivers license.
• Must possess Oklahoma Motor Club or South Dakota Travel Accident license for membership sales.
• Must presently hold, or work to acquire, AAI, CPIA CPCU, CLU, or CIC Insurance designation within three year time frame.
