Job Description
The NextGen Talent Manager is responsible for leading the PWM Foundations Associates and all strategies and initiatives aligned with PWM next generation talent. This position strategically focuses on the acquisition and development of Foundations Associates to achieve becoming a FA. Additionally, this role facilitates the Financial Advisor Training Program, in partnership with the PWM Professional Development Team.
As a PWM NextGen Talent Manager, you will:
• Oversee the PWM Foundations Program. Evaluate program criteria and continually focus on improvements and effectiveness of each department and branch rotation to achieve strategic outcomes. Create and update policies and procedures.
• Recruit and hire next generation talent. With firm HR, determine optimal recruiting sources. Create a recruiting strategy, to include social media and Baird.com.
• Lead the PWM Foundations Associates. Develop associates by providing each member professional and personal growth with an emphasis on becoming a Financial Advisor. Provide real-time performance feedback to Associates.
• Develop the strategy and operations of rotations. Analyze PWM branches and collaborate with Market Directors and Branch Managers to identify teaming opportunities for Foundations Associates.
• Partner with Branch Managers and FAs on non-Foundations Associate NextGen FA teaming initiatives by conducting NextGen interviews and collaborating with managers on next steps through the Financial Advisor Training Program (FATP).
• Create detailed and thoughtful analysis related to NextGen talent for PWM Leadership.
• In partnership with PWM Professional Development, primary facilitator for FATP, including introducing speakers and collaborating with PWM PD on program content and delivery. Joins follow-up coaching calls with FATP graduates, and continues to coach and guide post-graduation experience with branch leadership.
• Liaison and primary contact for UW Madison Capstone Program.
• PWM Internship Program coordinator, partnering with HR TA. PWM point for planning the PWM program overall, tying to longer-term objectives and follow-on programs like Foundations.

What we look for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance preferred.
• Previous leadership and people-management experience.
• Series 7 & 66 licenses, along with CFP designation preferred, or ability to obtain them.
• Previous private wealth management field experience.
• Ability to build and establish relationships quickly, working effectively with all levels across the firm.
• Direct and persuasive communicator, with public speaking experience.
• Forward-thinking with a strategic mindset.
• Ambition to take on new challenges.
• Genuine interest in helping to attract, retain and develop associates.
• Exceptional organizational skills, ability to establish priorities, manage deadlines, delegate appropriately, and proactively follow-up and follow through. Demonstrated success with individual time management as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to travel.
