The Securities Settlement Manager is responsible for the daily activities of associates performing all securities settlement processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations.
As Securities Settlement Manager, you will:
• Manage a diverse team of associates responsible for all aspects of the Firm’s Settlement process in a highly regulated and fast paced environment. Ability to perform certain settlement duties as needed, such as identifying securities which need to be borrowed to fulfill Firm’s delivery obligations.
• Drive operational planning to ensure that the operating unit is positioned to meet and exceed client needs relative to department activities.
• Builds and maintains relationships with key business partners, including various trading departments FA’s, other counterparty broker dealers and institutions.
• Ensure the execution of key Operations initiatives and activities supporting timely delivery of critical business success measurement goals as defined in Operations.
• A process subject matter expert who identifies opportunities for optimizing business productivity while demonstrating and ensuring data integrity expertise throughout the process.
• A thought leader who maintains an understanding of the issues on the client's agenda and shares information and key updates with the Operations team.
• Work closely with their department Senior Manager on team development and resource planning efforts.
• Partner and actively interact with Operations leadership and technical lead colleagues as a productive and collaborative member of the Operations team.
• Maintain awareness of industry regulation changes and ensure regulatory guidelines and compliance standards are adhered to within Operations including knowledge of Reg SHO, Reg T, and 15C3-3 as well as all facets of securities settlement processes to ensure all functions pertaining to these rules are compliant and accurate.
• Oversee and assist with all aspects of the Firm’s daily securities settlements and related processing including DTCC and Federal Reserve eligible securities.
• Oversee and assist with Firm Equity and Municipal Underwriting process. This includes the monitoring of Underwriting Closing and Good Faith schedules, and ensuring timely closing and receipt of these issues through DTC.
• Monitor and assist with Firm Repurchase Agreement processing, Tri-party and TBA contracts.
• Oversee and assist with Stock Loan/Borrow processes, including monitoring limits and short sale reconciliation.

What we look for:
• Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of relevant settlements/lending experience and a proven track record with demonstrated advancement in leadership roles. Experience should cover multiple functions, preferably within a diversified financial services firm or financial services regulatory body and include extensive knowledge of policies and procedures in the client services business model.
• Series 7 license required or willing to obtain within 120 days of hire.
• Strong leadership skills including excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills leading to trusting relationships with business partners and their leadership team.
• Will be driven to achieve results, thrive in a fast paced environment and be required to make decisions based on sound judgment with information at hand.
• The ability to convey issues credibly to internal and external stakeholders is a must.
• Proven Relationship/Account Management experience.
• Ability to work with a team and to motivate others.
