The Digital & Data Product Strategy Lead’s main responsibility is ensuring that BBH conceives and executes on solutions that will assist asset managers apply technology to achieve their most important objectives: driving growth, fostering innovation, managing cost and risk in an environment increasingly impacted by the disruptive impact of technology.
Our digital initiatives are aimed at accelerating the discovery, incubation, and delivery of BBH’s newest and most differentiated digital solutions, including BBH’s client on-line interactive client portal, a comprehensive suite of asset servicing applications and on-line tools. Our Data initiatives will include both focused enhancements to our current data platform as well as the creation of a long term strategy around the role of data in our business model identifying the strategic investments required to advance the next generation decision/analytics products as well as Data-as-a-Service offerings.
Digital Product Strategy
• Participate in the continued evolution of our digital and data products as well as the long-term Investor Services Digital & Data Program strategy:
• Serve as a highly credible point of contact for our other digital, data and technology subject matter experts in our Business Technology, Service Delivery and Fintech areas to advance our products and generate new value streams for BBH and our clients
• Partner with various BBH product management teams across Investor Services (i.e. Fund Accounting, Custody, TA, Foreign Exchange, etc.) to understand business goals and requirements and pivot toward digital and data oriented offerings that enhance the client experience and drive revenue
• Improve the Digital Client Experience by capitalizing on data and multi-channel information delivery as a source competitive differentiation
Client & Industry Engagement
• Collaborate with BBH’s Global Marketing and Relationship teams to establish a targeted, insight-led marketing strategy and client engagement plan that explicitly positions BBH as a leader in digital and emerging technology & data delivery
• Support our Sales and Relationship Managers through Digital & Data workshops / white-boarding sessions with appropriate clients to solution engineer around their data and operational challenges
• Provide business development assistance for sales meeting, RFP responses, due diligence reviews as well as via client events and industry conferences
• Educate colleagues, clients, industry/regulatory groups on digital and data topics and act as a thought leader in the industry and press about the application of new and emerging technologies relevant to our products, strategy and business
Develop and deepen BBH’s digital/data subject matter expertise
• Apply proven and time-tested subject matter expertise to digital and data product capabilities assessment & development, preferably in the asset servicing, capital markets, or broader financial services areas
• Track key competitor activities against BBH’s current product and technology capabilities in order to continually recalibrate our digital & data product strategy
• Communicate the technology initiatives being incubated in our “BBH Lab”, focusing on development activities, influencing strategy direction and investment prioritization, hosting client/internal/community engagements
• Through highly consultative approach, collaborate internally and externally to identify strategic opportunities to develop creative digital and data solutions that address the global challenges we and our client face now and in the future
• Participate in industry committees, sub-committees and working groups, as needed
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
• Proven track record of identifying creative digital technology opportunities to address most pressing commercial challenges
• Specific knowledge of the global asset management industry, including financial instruments, middle and back office processes, rules and regulations, data requirements, major software and services providers, technology trends, etc.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of digital technology and data concepts including, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cognitive computing, application programming interfaces, service oriented data architectures, data analytics, and blockchain as well as an ability to recommend apply these concepts to innovative solutions that align with clients’ strategic objectives
Knowledge and skills
• Exceptional oral presentation and product demonstration skills
• Consultative skill set, including a track record of providing unique and innovative insights across multiple areas
• Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships and collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others
• Knack for creativity conveying key strategic messaging in print and multimedia (PowerPoint, Keynote, and print) as well as the skill and confidence to deliver interactive presentations
Other requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree, MBA Strategy/Finance or other relevant advanced degree(s) preferred
• 10 years of direct asset servicing related strategy experience with strong knowledge operations workflows and technology platforms or equivalent management consulting experience preferred
