Role Summary:
The Product Analysis team has two main objectives: 1) provide Retail Life Management with the necessary data, and management reporting to manage our Life Product portfolio and Inforce, and 2) Conduct detailed analysis to support major product design initiatives and Inforce strategy initiatives. The Senior Associate will directly support the Product Strategy responsibilities recently assumed by the Product Analysis Team. The Senior Associate will work directly with the head of the Product Analysis team, as well as with the head of Life Product Development and her other direct reports to support the life product strategy initiatives of NYL. Examples of such initiatives in 2017-18 include: 1) Term Conversion strategy and its implications for Term Pricing, 2) Term Price Elasticity research, 3) Optimal Life Portfolio and the need to grow UL & VUL, 4) Omnichannel distribution and its implications for life product design and pricing.
Responsibilities:
The role of the Senior Associate will be: 1) To assist is the scoping of initiatives, and the analysis to support it, 2) to collaborate with the Product Analysts on the team in sourcing data and conducting analysis to support the, 3) to coordinate with the product development teams to integrate our initiatives into the broader product development projects, 4) to coordinate with the life pricing, pricing support, and data analytics teams when they are providing analytic support, 5) to own the production and delivery of interim and final results to the product teams, senior management, “Pods”, and product approval committees, 6) to develop intermediate data and analytic skills, and conduct more basic data sourcing and analysis.
Qualifications:
College degree required
Experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking, or Strategic Planning preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
The ability to structure and compose business communications, particularly in Powerpoint form.
Quantitative aptitude and interest.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel and interest and aptitude to learn more advanced data management and analysis tools.
