The Marketing Automation Specialist will optimize lifecycle marketing at onX, working closely with existing team members to define marketing strategies and execute campaigns on a daily basis. The Marketing Automation Specialist will build, execute and optimize digital marketing campaigns aimed at driving customer engagement and retention, building loyalty for both new and existing customers. A primary focus of the individual filling this role will be leveraging digital marketing tools and practices such as email, push notifications, in-app messaging, and social networks to drive customer engagement and facilitate customer interaction through all points in the customer journey.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Customer Engagement & Retention
Create and execute mobile app onboarding and lifecycle marketing automation strategies.
Develop and maintain in-app and web app marketing strategies to drive customer engagement and retention.
Own the end-to-end process of creating and executing customer engagement marketing campaigns, working cross-functionally with merchandising, marketing, and creative teams to identify opportunities and create compelling content.
Identify key customer engagement performance metrics and provide regular performance reporting.
Partner with the product and engineering teams to build scalable tools and features that enable flawless campaign execution.
Follow a process of continuous improvement, learning at each step in the process and sharing those learnings with the team to improve our ability to create engaging and relevant campaigns.
Identify and execute on opportunities to grow our communication channels and increase our reach.
Support new project efforts as the company identifies opportunities to expand marketing capabilities through mobile apps.
Email Engagement
Support the development and implementation of short and long-term email marketing strategies.
Manage the daily execution of email marketing programs in support of company objectives. This responsibility includes ownership of the setup, testing, execution, maintenance, and review of recurring and triggered email campaigns.
Understand email marketing projects from a technical point of view.
Serve as a main point of contact for data integration across multiple platforms and systems, ensure integrated program management, and optimal use of third-party programs and partnerships.
Analyze email campaign results and report campaign performance, summarize key insights, and offer optimization recommendations.
Manage and develop the email testing roadmap: continually optimize, analyze, conduct A/B tests, and make recommendations on improving email performance.
Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to email.
Ensure best practices through email compliance and spam regulation (CAN-SPAM / CASL) and share key insights and recommendations with the team and stakeholders.
Demand Generation Support
Assist in the creation and fulfillment of marketing strategies and initiatives.
Identify best practices for evolving digital marketing practices.
Monitor, assess and assist in analytics reporting to gain insight and improve strategies.
Fill in as necessary in the development and deployment of strategy and optimization of SEM, SEO, and ASO as needed.
Conduct a/b testing and analysis on various campaigns.
Assist in implementation and maintenance of various campaigns on online advertising platforms.
Ensure marketing and customer engagement strategies align with best practice user experience (UX) in both the website and mobile applications.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University.
Certifications: N/A
Minimum Experience: One (1) year full-time technical experience preferred; or on-the-job training offered for one (1) year in lieu of experience at a lower starting wage during the training period.
Other Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Superior writing and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems
Statistical and critical thinking skills
Collaborative, well organized and efficient
Business intelligence experience
Experience using online marketing mediums such as Adwords, Bing AdCenter, Adroll, Facebook are strongly preferred
Understanding of the hunting or outdoor industry is preferred
