Description
Can you capture the voice of our C Suite and confidently relay their voice in a global environment? If so challenge your executive advisory and writing skills to deliver innovative communications strategies and approaches as Mercer’s Marketing Chief of Staff & CEO Communications Leader capturing the voice of our CEO and CMO.
In this role, you will partner closely with the Global Chief Marketing Officer, the Senior Marketing leadership team (SMLT) and the office of the Chief Executive Officer to create and execute the communications strategy for the CEO. The position will direct both internal and external communications from the CEO, maximizing his scale, impact and voice to deliver the desired business outcomes: strategic and leadership alignment, client and colleague engagement, reinforcing Mercer’s brand, media and social positioning, and making critical announcements. The role will also run the CMO’s office, including her operating rhythm with the Marketing Leadership Team and her presentations within and outside of Mercer.
This leader brings a combination of strategic and executional ability, strong communication instincts and skills, and the ability to confidently advise senior leaders. This role provides structure to unstructured situations and with gravitas, leads discussions at multiple levels of the organization to both continue to shape the CEOs message and to influence the broader communications within the organization.
CEO Communications
• Developing the CEOs brand voice, integrating his authentic voice with Mercer’s brand positioning and current relevant news and announcements.
• Develop the CEOs media, social, and internal strategy working closely with the PR, Social and Internal Communications teams.
• Working with the Office of the CEO and Marketing PMO, manage the cadence of the CEOs internal and external communications for desired impact
Chief of Staff- SMLT Responsibilities
• SMLT Liaison: Serves on and anticipates the business and operational needs of the SMLT (Senior Marketing Leadership team) as a trusted advisor, addressing complex operational issues, planning for key meetings and with the global internal communications and change management leader:
Global CMO Representative: Represents Global CMO in her absence and works with senior leaders in Markets, LOBs, and functions with the appropriate level of gravitas and confidence.
Chief of Staff - Marketing Colleague
Engagement
• Executes quarterly Marketing town halls by partnering with Internal Communications and various Marketing leaders to ensure complete colleague engagement within Marketing against the Marketing vision, strategic priorities and business alignment
• Champions Marketing employee engagement to boost colleague energy, productivity, results and colleague engagement scores
Qualifications include:
• BA/BS in Journalism, Marketing or Communications, business or related field (or equivalent). MBA a plus
• 10 or more years communications, marketing or speech writing experience
• Previous experience in a C-suite / Executive office in a communications role
• Experience in a global, large-scale organization
• Experience working in or with a PR Agency, a plus
• Experience working within a consulting firm, a plus
