Summary of Responsibilities
The SR Manager, Talent Management and Development provides strategic direction and thought leadership on our talent, performance management and development programs and processes. Key customers include executives, business and functional leaders, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Santander Consumer Associates. This role will ensure we’re developing the skills and capabilities of our people to support the growth and evolution of our fast-growing business.
Essentials Functions:
• Develop & execute the talent & development philosophy and strategy
• Oversee the team that leads talent, performance management and development programs and ensure smooth delivery and continuous improvements of each program
• Consult with HR Business Partners and business leaders to identify talent-related needs
• Provide tools, resources and programs to support talent and performance management
• Work closely with senior management team across the enterprise to identify and anticipate learning needs of the front-line and senior level leaders
• Partner with affiliate companies to share best practices and plans
• Conduct external research and benchmarking to ensure strategy, content and delivery model are positioned to deliver best-in-class results
• Define prioritized annual objectives complete with action plans, resourcing models, milestones & metrics of success
• Design & execute strategy to establish awareness, build commitment to personal development and increase participation in training programs and course offerings
• Deliver & execute talent planning to include talent reviews and succession planning
• Manage, monitor and ensure performance to budget
• Develop measures, benchmarks, or scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of development efforts; apply these measures to drive progress in talent management and retention
Other Functions:
• Special projects as requested
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• BA/BS degree in related discipline; Masters/MBA (preferred) or equivalent experience in organizational development or behavior.
• Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in leading talent and organizational performance and development initiatives, programs, and processes
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years management experience
• Proven track record of interacting with all levels of management including top level executives
• Demonstrable track record of implementing and delivering results in a matrix environment
• Ability to toggle between strategy development & tactical execution; gets work done at pace
• Ability to work through organizational complexity and ambiguity
• Demonstrated track record of aligning learning and talent strategies and programs to business strategy, and realizing measurable business impact
• Consultative adviser and problem solver with superior discretion and professionalism
• Coaching skills and strong personal influence style
Working Conditions:
• May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
• May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
• May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and working on a computer
• Corporate / satellite office role
