Director, Technology & Architecture – Core Banking role will lead a centralized Architect team for Finastra’ s core banking products across global locations with an aim to cross pollinate product knowledge and force platform/solution thinking. Key responsibilities include
• Strategize and align product architecture with enterprise platform/framework for Finastra’s Core banking products
• Contribute 30% of time to architecture road map of products.
• Provide Architecture guidance on strategic initiatives and solution architecture
• Ideate solutions and evaluate PoCs
• Ensure Technology & Tools standardization across Core product lines
• Maximize Devops adoption in development projects
• Ensure usage of coding standards tools & ensure Code quality across cores products
• Manage Architecture agile board to ensure work allocation and utilization of architects across scrum team.
This role will work closely with Platform Enterprise Architects to define the most effective solutions to address business problems, while leveraging their knowledge of existing systems and services and the capabilities available in the marketplace. The individual filling this role is responsible for solution architecture and design, proof of concepts, for Finastra technology projects and maintaining current and future state architecture design documentation for all Core solutions products and services in the Retail Banking line of business. The individual will also work with various business stakeholders in problem solving, creating business capabilities, and defining effective and efficient technology solutions for solving business problems and enabling business capabilities.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Leads a global team of product architects, establishes solutions architectural processes and standards to guide the rest of the development organization.
• Partner with platform architects, program managers and development teams on oversight for all requirements to formulate appropriate architecture required to provide system functionality, deciding when to advocate and when to compromise to arrive at mutually acceptable solutions.
• Expert knowledge in provisioning, automating, managing and monitoring Microsoft Azure environments for both IaaS and PaaS
• Architect, design and develop solutions with enterprise–reusability in mind, with ability to address concurrent, multiple projects
• Establishes, communicates, and enforces application design patterns, interface standards, and development guidelines.
• Plays a critical role in the investigation of new technologies to provide development viability of architectural initiatives to meet medium to long term business needs.
• Develops innovations with business partnerships which enhance operations and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and implementing them to DevOps practices
• Knowledgeable about useful metrics, and how to work with them to track against goals/KPIStrong written and oral communication skills.
• Fluent in English. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Asset: an eye for data visualization
Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and 15+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering/design and managing global teams.
• Experience with cloud SaaS and PaaS products, and integration with both on premise and SaaS solutions utilizing native or container technologies
• Exposure to building multi-tenant, high-volume, transactional, SAAS applications that are highly scalable and highly available (Microsoft Azure)
• Knowledgeable in the design and construction of business, information, technology and infrastructure architecture that enable well-integrated transactional, collaborative, and user friendly systems – min 7-10 years
• Experience in establishing engineering standards, frameworks, best practices, and tools aligned with SDLC
• Experience with a variety of relevant technologies, including Microsoft, .Net, C#, XML, REST, SQL/NoSQL, etc. Experience with the Docker deployment in Azure.
• Proven experience in software integration patterns – services, event driven solutions, ESB, SOA.
• Experience in playing a leading role in the investigation of new technologies and architectural initiatives to meet medium to long term business needs.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience in presenting to VPs and steering committees
• Experience in Togaf/Zachman or comparative enterprise architecture frameworks – min 5 years. TOGAF certification a plus
