Job Expectations:
The Commercial Banking Assistant provides support to commercial relationship and portfolio managers by preparing loan documentation, on-boarding new loans and on-going monitoring of existing loans. These positions interact with customers on a daily basis regarding loan advances and repayments, overdraft and fraud determinations, originating account and wire transfers, and problem resolution. In addition, they support other departmental administrative needs.
Responsibilities include:
• Primary customer contact for loan administration issues.
• Prepares ELARs, obtains needed approvals, and submits to Commercial Loan Servicing.
• Reviews loan documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to execution.
• Submits completed loan documentation to CLS and manages the booking process.
• Processes real estate documentation including title work, recording, and insurance.
• Requests appraisal reviews and flood letters.
• Clears documentation exceptions.
• Processes loan advances and paydowns, account and wire transfers.
• Coordinates new deposit account openings and closings.
• Creates and maintains loan documentation files.
• Coordinates and processes direct mail campaigns.
• Processes daily overdraft approval and fraud verification.
• Updates, maintains, and records receipt of financial documents and tracks next due date.
• Processes customer maintenance requests on multiple systems.
• Handles routine and confidential customer correspondence and other departmental administrative needs.
• Skilled at Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ELAR, BDEV, CRISP, Shaw, CAC, and Branch Connections.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
Experience:
Entry Level, 1 to 2 years of related experience; has a basic knowledge of the various job responsibilities, has a basic knowledge of the various systems, requires supervision, and has a basic knowledge of loan documentation and customer service skills.
