Job Description Summary
Defines and communicates a vision for Bank of the West digital user experiences across desktop, tablet, mobile and ATM that is consistent, intuitive and easy to use. Builds and manages a team of expert user experience professionals to support the range of digital experiences at Bank of the West. Manages vendor and agency partners in the design of digital experiences on behalf of Bank of the West to ensure that bank objectives are achieved.
Essential Job Functions
• Manages a team of user interface experts - providing guidance, coaching and mentoring as needed.
• Oversees resource management (i.e. day-to-day management) of design process and design resources across the digital channel project pipeline.
• Manages vendor management: manages vendor relationships with partners that contribute to the design of the digital channel user interface experiences.
• Oversees Interaction Design (function level interaction principles and concepts); Interface Design (component-level interaction principles and concepts); Information Architecture and information Design (content structure, hierarchy and presentation concepts and principles).
Qualifications
Required Experience
• Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one area.
• Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree Human Factors, Psychology, Design, User Interface design, or related field
Skills
• Business skills including project management, time management, stakeholder management, and business writing.
• Communication skills including persuasive writing, technical writing, public speaking and presenting, and visual communication.
• Interpersonal skills including facilitation, active listening, interviewing, observation, team building and collaboration.
• Usability skills including knowledge of usability testing principles and methods.
• Media skills including understanding of resolution issues, color palettes, icon design, animation, prototyping and file format tradeoffs.
