Perform daily duties for the Bankruptcy Department such as: opening and closing workstations for new filings, discharges, and the dismissal of loans in bankruptcy. Referring Proof of Claim and Motions for Relief from Stay to the attorney’s office and other filings as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Refer Proof of Claims to the attorneys on all Chapter 11, 12 and 13 cases.
• Prepare referrals for attorney for Motion for Relief from Stay and Reaffirmation Agreements
• Prepare documents for signature per attorney requests
• Conducts research on bankruptcy matters such as: payment application, payment history, trustee ledger, cancelled checks, etc.
• Provide documents requested by attorney on a timely fashion
• Correspond with the attorney’s offices, providing necessary information to coordinate the necessary filings on LoanCare/clients behalf.
• On assigned files, open, update and close the loans on the bankruptcy workstation
• Review and document assigned files monthly for payments, other motion filings, progress of LoanCare’s filings in the case.
• Take phone calls from borrowers making mortgage payments.
• Open and process BK mail
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year work experience in bankruptcy processing.
• Working knowledge of accepted business practices in the mortgage industry and/or strong understanding of Federal Bankruptcy processes
• Proficiency with AACER/PACER or other bankruptcy search tools
• Good analytical and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Black Knight Desktop-PM preferable.
• Black Knight-MSP (Mortgage Servicing Platform) experience required.
• Experience using Microsoft office (Excel and Word)
• Experience with National Data center preferred.
